Ritchey Science Fair Info

Select students will be competing at the Ritchey Science Fair at Weber State University this week! Students have been notified of their participation ahead of time. Here is the information you'll need:

Junior Fair (grade 6-8):Thursday, March 22nd.

Senior Fair (grade 9-12): Friday, March 23rd

Where: Dee Events Center at Weber State University (4450 Harrison Blvd.)

Parents will be responsible for all transportation of their student to and from the fair. Please contact Ms. Robins if you are unable to arrange transportation.

When to be there: The schedule of events for the day is listed below. Students will be excused from school for the whole day, but please be sure to check with teachers to make up work you will miss. Students must be at their projects by noon. Once judging begins all parents, teachers, and others individuals who are not presenting a project will be asked to leave the judging floor. Judging should be completed sometime around 4:00 p.m. depending upon how many projects are competing in each category.

The following schedule is the same for both Thursday & Friday:

9am: Doors open

10am-12pm: Science demonstrations by Weber State faculty and students.

12:30-4pm: Judging

5pm: Public viewing

7:30pm: Awards ceremony

What to Wear & Bring: Students should be dressed professionally and be prepared to present your project to the category judges and other special award judges. Students are expected to stay with your projects until you are released to go home.

• Lunch or $$ to buy lunch at kiosk

• Enthusiasm!

Awards: For each fair, there is a public viewing following judging at 5:00 pm, and the Awards Ceremony will begin at 7:30 pm. Please plan to attend the awards ceremony, and dress appropriately. Students are not required to be present at their projects during the public viewing.
