We are lucky to have the Weber State University Respiratory Therapy program come to our class on February 21 & 22 to help conduct pig lung dissections. We have been discussing the respiratory system, and it is now time to see some lungs 'in the flesh!'
You are all expected to bring back the signed parent permission slip (distributed in class) before participating in the dissection. If this slip is not returned, you may not participate and will be given and alternate assignment that day.
Dissection Expectations:
1) Safe, alert movement and interactions
2) No horseplay of any kind in the lab
3) Respect guest speakers, property, and your educational experience
If any of these are violated at any time, students will leave the class and complete the alternate activity, as outlined in the parent permission slip.
I really want you to get as much as possible out of this opportunity - please be on your best behavior. Also, if you know you're sensitive to blood/tissue and you don't want to participate, you may complete the alternate assignment that day.
Thank you!
Mrs. Taylor
