Science Fair RUBRICS *Please Read*

READ these grading rubrics for each Science Fair option:

Tech Developer:

- Website complete, no unfinished sections. MUST include your name and class period.

- Built using Wix or other free web design systems

- Scientific concept outlined logically and is easy to follow through the site

- Website contains each of the following:

* Background research section on your topic. Must be at least 4 full paragraphs.

* An explanation of how the Scientific Method has been/ could be used with your topic.

* At least 3 images representing the topic of your choice (school appropriate)

* An explanation of how your topic relates to Biology. Must be at least 2 full paragraphs.

* A Google Tour link included in the website

* The Google Tour should include at least 5 locations associated with the topic of your choice

* The Google Tour must have one paragraph of text and one picture included with each location

Send the URL to TaylorKi@ogdensd.org by 8:00 AM on Feb 5th. NO LATE WORK ACCEPTED.

Your website will be displayed at the MOJH Science Fair on a projector.

Crafty Creator:

- Craft project completed, no unfinished components

- Must be based on the documentary you chose from the provided list

- Must have turned in the parent permission slip for the documentary

- Craft project may be made out of any medium of your choice (sketch, paint, clay, wood, etc).

- Craft project must be large enough for viewers to see detail and understand your project.

- Craft project must be able to sit upright to be displayed in a Gallery Walk from Feb 9-15th.

- Project submitted with:

* A printed, typed, single spaced page of paper explaining how your craft project represents a scientific concept outlined in the documentary you watched. This page MUST include your names and class period. This will be displayed next to your craft project so that viewers can better understand your project.

Project & paper must be turned in by 8:00AM on Feb 5th. NO LATE WORK ACCEPTED.

Your work will be displayed at the MOJH Science Fair Gallery Walk from Feb 9-15th.

Old School Glory:

- White, tri-fold board completed, no unfinished sections

- You may have colored paper as a background for each section

- The board must contain the following Scientific Method sections:

* Background research on your topic

* Hypothesis explaining your anticipated experimental outcomes

* Method explaining how you conducted your experiment (Independent & Dependent Variable & Control Group as applicable)

* Data Collection explaining how you collected data on your experiment

* Data Analysis explaining how you interpreted your data.

* Results section containing at least one chart or graph, and a detailed explanation of findings

* Conclusion section summarizing whether your hypothesis was supported or not.

* Short section explaining how your project relates to Biology in some way.

* At least two pictures demonstrating how you conducted your experiment.

Poster and any demo items must be brought to the MOJH Gym by 8:00AM Feb 5th. NO LATE WORK ACCEPTED.

Your project will be displayed at the MOJH Science Fair on Feb 5th. You will be called out of class for A3, A4, and Flex to participate in the Science Fair.
